A luminous and beautifully preserved example of late 18th to early 19th century jewellery. This Georgian pendant is set with five cushion cut citrines, each mounted in a closed back, foiled setting designed to amplify their colour and brilliance. The stones are arranged with characteristic balance and symmetry, creating a jewel that is both refined and full of life.

Foil backing is a technique highly prized in Georgian jewellery that was used to enhance the natural warmth and depth of coloured gemstones, allowing them to catch and reflect light even in candlelit interiors. The result here is a rich display of golden hues, with each citrine glowing with an inner fire that seems almost lit from within.

Citrine was a favoured gemstone of the Georgian period, associated with prosperity, energy, and optimism, and often used in sentimental or celebratory jewels. The soft  cushion shaped cuts and warm, honeyed tones of this piece are quintessentially 18th century in character.

This is an elegant and evocative pendant a rare survival of the Georgian era, and a timeless addition to any collection of antique jewellery
