Antique Amethyst Signet Ring 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1908

A substantial Edwardian signet ring that has been created in buttery 18 carat gold. The mount has a beautiful weight and presence and perfectly pairs with the soft lilacs hues on the stone. 

Set into the centre is a rather unusual stone. A soft lilac amethyst its delicate violet hue providing a beautiful contrast against the rich gold. Amethyst was a much loved gemstone throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, but its use in a substantial signet such as this gives the ring a particularly distinctive feel
