Antique Bird Bloodstone Intaglio Ring 9 Carat Rose Gold; Circa 1890

A tactile Late Victorian signet ring. This antique ring has been created in warm 9 carat rose gold with a substantial shield shaped mount and a well proportioned profile.

Set into the centre is a rich bloodstone intaglio, hand carved with a striking bird of prey. The deep green stone and warm, rosy gold make for a wonderfully understated combination, while the finely carved bird brings a sense of history to an otherwise simple design.

There is something sublime about the simplicity of this ring. It isn't overly decorated or fussy; instead, it relies on the rich gold, the hue of the bloodstone and the miniature carved figure at its centre. An impressive piece of Late Victorian jewellery.

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition. There looks like a historical repair on each shoulder which can be seen by a colour change in the gold. This more noticable on the inside by the bloodstone.
