Tiny Sardonyx Hand Intaglio Ring in 9 Carat Gold; Circa 1980

A beautifully symbolic vintage intaglio ring. Created from 9 carat gold and set with an oval sardonyx stone it's a timeless piece. The sardonyx, with its natural layers of red brown and soft white, has been finely engraved with the image of a hand, within whose palm rests a tiny flower or cobweb.

The engraving carries a subtle sense of sentimentality, evoking Victorian themes of affection and remembrance. The hand and flower motif was often used in the 19th century to represent friendship, love, and the fragility of life. This ring, though later in date, beautifully recalls that timeless romantic symbolism.
