Antique Old Cut Diamond Double Row Boat Ring

A beautiful and timeless antique diamond ring. Dating to the closing years of the Victorian era and just as wearable to day as it was over 120 years ago. 

Designed in the classic boat shaped style so beloved during the late 19th century, the ring features two elegant rows of graduating old cut diamonds. Each stone has been hand cut, giving the ring a soft yet lively sparkle. Altogether, the diamonds total approximately 1 carat, creating a wonderful spread of light across the finger.

The elongated form of the setting gives the ring a flattering profile, while the graduated arrangement of the stones adds movement to the design.

The ring is finished in white gold, most likely rhodium plated over an original yellow gold base. As with all white gold rings, the surface may gently warm in tone over time as the plating naturally softens, adding further character and depth to the piece.

Interestingly, the ring carries double hallmarking: its original “18ct” mark alongside a later modern hallmark of 375 for 9 carat gold. Based on the overall quality, feel, and construction of the ring, we believe it to be much closer in nature to 18ct gold, with the later hallmark likely applied at a subsequent point in its life.
