Antique Chalcedony 'B' Intaglio Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1880

A sublime and understated late Victorian signet ring. This sort after style ring has been created in buttery 18 carat gold with a beautifully rounded, substantial profile.

Set into the gold is a wonderful piece of green chalcedony, its soft, luminous colour providing a beautiful contrast to the warm glow of the gold. The stone has been hand engraved with a single letter ‘B’, picked out in a simple, flowing font.

There is something particularly lovely about the restraint of this ring. Rather than an elaborate coat of arms or intricate engraving, the single initial feels deeply personal.

The rounded gold setting gives the ring a wonderfully tactile quality, while the softly coloured chalcedony and elegant initial create a piece that feels both refined and distinctive.
