A unusual little curio of a ring. Not perfect, not polished, and all the more charming for it.

Set within a simple 18 carat gold bezel is an intriguing carved stone, bearing the faint remains of what appears to be a crown or coronet. The stone itself is something of a mystery and much much older. We have not encountered another quite like it and, while it has the appearance of an agate, we cannot confidently identify the material.

It is clear that this was a ring that was very well loved and very well worn. The stone carries a number of historical cracks across its surface and the once crisp details of the carved crown have softened considerably through generations of wear. Rather than detracting from the piece, we think this is precisely what makes it so special.

There is something wonderfully human about an antique jewel that shows its history so openly. This isn't a pristine, it is rough around the edges, worn, mysterious and beautifully imperfect. We don't know who wore it, why the crown was carved into the stone, or exactly what the stone itself is. And somehow, we rather love that.

A true oddity and a wonderful conversation piece. This is a ring for someone who appreciates the unusual. The jewels that don't quite fit neatly into a category but have a story written into every mark and softened edge.
