Antique Diamond Earrings in Silver

A characterful pair of Georgian era earrings, designed as elegant studs and created in silver. Each earring is formed in a flowing ‘S’ profile, a graceful motif that was favoured in the Georgian period for its sense of movement and balance.

Set into the silver are graduating hand cut diamonds. Their irregular facets catch the light in a wonderfully soft and lively way, producing the unmistakable sparkle of a historical stone. The gentle graduation enhances the curve of the design and gives the earrings a refined yet eye catching presence. 

As was common with historic jewellery, it is possible these elements began life as part of another Georgian jewel. Perhaps a larger ornament or decorative component,  and were thoughtfully converted at a later date into earrings. Such adaptations were a natural part of jewellery’s long life and add to the story and authenticity of the piece.

CONDITION: This is in good antique condition with only a light patina of wear and a few tiny nibbles to the diamonds and silver.
