Antique Oval Old Cut Diamond Ring; Circa 1878

A timeless Victorian diamond solitaire ring. Dating to 1878 this jewel beautifully showcases the understated elegance of the period.

Created in rich 18 carat gold, the ring is set with a hand cut old oval cut diamond weighing  between 0.50 to 0.6 carats. Unlike the precision cut diamonds of today, antique old cut stones were fashioned entirely by hand, giving each one a unique personality. This beautiful diamond displays broad, lively facets that catch the light with a soft, romantic sparkle unique to antique gems.

Held securely within a classic claw setting, the diamond takes centre stage, allowing its distinctive cut and natural beauty to shine. The warm buttery hue of the 18 carat gold perfectly complements the bright white of the stone.

CONDITION: This is overall in good antique condition with a patina of wear to the gold and diamond as expected. The diamond is nice and secure though one or two claws are everso slightly raised
