Antique Dragon Intaglio Signet Ring; Circa 1900

An enchanting antique signet ring that dates to the Edwardian era. Created from 9 carat gold and set with a deep bloodstone it is as magical today as it was over 120 years ago.

At the centre is an oval bloodstone carved with a heraldic dragon. Although the dragon is small in scale, the carving is remarkably detailed, with the mythical creature carefully recreated the rich green surface of the stone.

The dragon is a fitting image for a signet, traditionally associated with courage, protection and power. Combined with the deep, earthy tones of the bloodstone, it gives the ring a wonderfully historic and heraldic character.

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition with some softening of the gold and bloodstone - There is signs of a historical sizing at the back of the band; but these are subtle.
