Vintage Roman Boxers Signet Ring in Silver

A bold and unusual vintage ring, full of character and sculptural presence. Dating to the 1960's its design is in fact much much older! 

Created in sterling silver, the ring features a substantial wrapped panel design, giving it a strong, tactile feel on the hand. Engraved across the top is a dynamic scene of two figures boxing with a feeling of movement and energy. From the finer details and composition, the image appears to be inspired by, or copied from, classical depictions of Roman boxers, lending the piece a connection to ancient sports and classical art.
