Antique Elephant Signet Ring in 9 Carat Gold; Circa 1880

A darling little antique signet ring which has been created in warm 9 carat gold and beautifully petite in both size and setting! At its centre is a detailed sardonyx agate intaglio, hand carved with the figure of an elephant.

The warm layered tones of the sardonyx create a wonderful backdrop for the tiny carved elephant, allowing its silhouette and details to stand out beautifully. There is something particularly charming about such a substantial subject being captured within such a small stone.

We love the petite proportions of this ring, which make it wonderfully easy to wear while still giving the beautiful little intaglio plenty of presence. A sweet and unusual antique signet.
