Antique Georgian Diamond Hoop or Connector; Circa 1800

Few pieces of antique jewellery capture both ingenuity and history quite like this Georgian jewel. Created over 200 years ago, this wonderfully versatile piece can be worn in a number of ways. Either as a single hoop earring or suspended from a chain with a pendant threaded upon it.

Expertly designed in warm 9 carat gold, the hoop is fitted with a discreet hinged that opens and closes securely. To the front a beautifully hand cut diamond is claw set in silver. Despite the passing of two centuries, the diamond continues to sparkle with extraordinary life.

An exceptionally unusual survivor. This is far more than a beautiful jewel it is a wearable fragment of history, offering endless possibilities for the modern collector while preserving the remarkable craftsmanship and versatility of the early nineteenth century.

CONDITION: This is in overall lovely antique condition with only a fine patina to the gold and diamond. The fitting is secure and closes well.
