A refined and versatile antique jewel. Dating to the early Victorian era and has an elegance that has endured for well over a century.
Created in warm 9 carat rose gold, this exquisite buckle ornament is beautifully adorned with lustrous pearls, their soft glow complementing the rich blush tones of the gold.
Buckle motifs held deep sentimental meaning throughout the Georgian and Victorian periods, symbolising strength and an unbreakable bond. Their enduring popularity made them a favourite motif in jewellery that has continued on to today.
What's great is that the original buckle fitting to the reverse remains fully functional. It would most likely have originally been worn upon a ribbon necklace, a fashionable style during the 19th century.
It could once again be worn as intended on a velvet or silk ribbon, recreating its original Victorian appearance, or alternatively suspended from a chain. This is a beautiful survivor from the early Victorian era, offering both historical charm and endless wearability for the modern collector.
