Antique Victorian Hinged Locket Signet Ring in 9 Carat Gold

A wonderfully rare Victorian mourning ring, combining hidden sentiment with striking design.

Created in 9 carat gold, the ring takes the form of a classic signet style, giving it a timeless and substantial presence on the hand. The top is set with a foil-backed rock crystal, displaying a soft pale purple hue. Over time, a small amount of water exposure has created a unique antique patina. Rather than taking away we fell this only adds depth and character to the stone and enhancing its one of a kind appearance.

The most remarkable feature of this ring is its hinged signet top, which lifts to reveal a hidden locket compartment beneath. Inside rests an oval locket of hair. A deeply personal and intimate tribute to a dearly loved one, in keeping with the Victorian tradition of sentimental jewellery.

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition with an overall patina. There may have been a historical sizing at the back of the band to make it bigger as well as some water damage behind the stone.
