A late Georgian to early Victorian mourning ring, beautifully combining sentiment, craftsmanship, and soft luminous beauty.
Created in rich 15 carat gold, the ring is designed with an elegant marquise shaped panel to the front. Set at the centre are four substantial pearls, their gentle lustre glowing beautifully against the warmth of the gold. Surrounding them are tiny hand cut diamonds, delicately arranged to add subtle flickers of antique sparkle.
The shoulders are adorned with graduating pearls alongside black enamel detailing, giving the ring a graceful flow. The combination of the creamy pearls, dark enamel, and softly shimmering diamonds creates an effect that feels almost ethereal.
Pearls held profound symbolism within Georgian and Victorian mourning jewellery, traditionally representing tears. Combined with the softly twinkling hand cut diamonds, the overall effect is wonderfully poetic. Whomever this was made for, there were clearly deeply loved.
