Antique Harlequin Gemstone Bracelet in 9 Carat Gold; Circa 1910

A little rainbow of antique colour, this harlequin bracelet dates to around 1910 and captures the Edwardian love of vibrant gemstones and elegant, wearable design.

Created in 9 carat gold, the bracelet is set with a graduating sequence of gemstones, each held within its own claw setting. The setting allowing lots of light into the stones giving a rainbow of fire and sparkle. Citrine, amethyst, garnet and topaz etc, bring together a wonderful spectrum of golden yellow, lilac, blues, rich red and warm, glowing tones, creating a lively parade of colour across the wrist.

The term harlequin is traditionally used for jewellery that brings together an assortment of differently coloured gemstones, celebrating their individual beauty rather than matching them uniformly.
