A deeply personal Edwardian signet ring dating to 1905 with a rather unusual design. This antique ring has been created in rich 18 carat golden has a lovely heavy profile.
The ring has an unusual wide trilogy style band, giving it a distinctive presence on the hand. At its centre sits an oval green agate intaglio, held within a classic bezel setting and beautifully carved with a personal design.
Within the stone is the letter ‘M’, enclosed within a small shield, above the carefully engraved date ‘24th July 1905’. The combination of an initial and date makes this a particularly intriguing piece. Perhaps commemorating a marriage, anniversary, birth or another deeply personal occasion.
The rich green agate, warm 18 carat gold and unusual wide band create a wonderful combination, while the intimate engraving makes this feel less like a traditional signet and more like a small piece of personal history worn upon the hand.
