Antique Mizpah Heart Brooch in 9 carat Gold; Circa 1905

A charming antique brooch created in 9 carat gold and designed as two hearts set side by side, engraved with the word “Mizpah” and the full biblical promise:
“The Lord watch between me & thee when we are absent one from another.”

Mizpah jewellery held profound meaning in the 19th century, symbolising protection and the hope of safe return. Such pieces were often exchanged between loved ones separated by distance particularly through travel or war. They were worn as a constant reminder of devotion and watchful care.
