Antique Love Token 'SR' Coin with Gold; Circa 1900

An unusual Victorian love token, created from an original Russian coin and transformed into a deeply personal little piece of jewellery.

One side of the coin has been polished smooth, creating a surface onto which the initials ‘SR’ have been applied in warm 9 carat rose gold. The letters have been beautifully created in an ornate decorative font, giving the initials a romantic quality.

Love tokens made from coins are particularly charming pieces of jewellery history. An everyday object was transformed into something deeply personal. Carrying initials, dates or sentimental messages intended for someone special. A love still felt today, many generations later.
