Antique Sardonyx 'S' Signet Ring; Circa 1890

A handsome Victorian signet ring. This ring has been beautifully created in rich 15 carat gold with subtly unusual yet classic mount it is as wearable today as it was over 130 plus years ago. 

The signet ring is set with a cushion cut sardonyx, its striking layers of warm cream and deep orange creating the perfect setting for the finely engraved intaglio. At the centre, the stone has been hand carved with a single Gothic letter "S", its flowing script adding a sense of individuality and refinement.

CONDITION: This is overall in good antique condition with a patina of wear to the stone and gold. This is a subtle sizing mark on one shoulder and the stone has been set historically with a clear resin that can be seen in some places
