Antique Mythical Intaglio Signet Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1860

A beautifully timeless Victorian signet ring. This buttery ring dates to 1860 and created in rich 18 carat gold. A sublime example of a sort after jewel. 

The ring has a classic, signet profile, with a warm buttery glow that comes from more than 160 years of age. The face has been simply hand engraved with a wonderfully mysterious mythical creature, its exact identity now somewhat difficult to determine. It appears possibly to be a wolf or griffin.

The classic form and warm 18 carat gold make this super wearable signet, while the aged engraving gives it the character that can only come with time. A handsome Victorian jewel with a little mystery at its heart.
