The tiny binoculars contain a Stanhope a Victorian optical novelty that reveals a miniature image when viewed through its tiny lens. In this case, the hidden image is a playful and rather risqué scene of a lady in a state of undress looking back at the viewer.

The binoculars themselves are made from base metal and would originally have been finished in a bright painted gold. Much of this finish has now worn away, leaving behind an aged and historical patina.

We have added a simple 9 carat gold loop so it be worn as a pendant. A wonderful piece for anyone drawn to the stranger, more playful side of antique jewellery.

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition. They would have been once been bright gold finished but this has somewhat worn now.
