Antique Old Cut Diamond Ring in 15 Carat Gold; Circa 1870

An impressive antique diamond ring, centred with a striking irregular oval old-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.36 carats. Full of character, the diamond displays the deep fire and lively sparkle that only hand cut stones of the Victorian era can offer, with each facet reflecting its unique history.

The stone is set in a classic Victorian multiple-claw setting created in rich 15 carat gold. The open, finely worked claws allow light to flood the diamond from all angles, enhancing its brilliance and creating wonderful depth and fire when worn. There is a lovely subtle engraved shoulders.
