Late Georgian Diamond Floral Band; Circa 1830

An enchanting late Georgian diamond ring. Full of romance and whimsy this is a really unusual design. 

Created with a warm 18 carat gold band, the ring is crowned with an elaborate floral cluster. At its centre, a series of graduating old cut diamonds create a focal point, their hand cut facets catching the light with the soft, sparkle so characteristic of Georgian jewellery.

Surrounding the principal stones are rows of delicately diamond set floral motifs, forming an intricate and decorative design that is highly elegant. The composition has a wonderful sense of movement and depth, reflecting the Georgian love of naturalistic forms.

As was traditional during the period, the diamonds are closed back set in silver, a technique used throughout the Georgian era to enhance the brilliance of the stones. The cool silver front contrasts beautifully with the 18 carat gold band.
