Antique Seal French Motto Pendant in 9 Carat Gold

An evocative Georgian seal filled with sentimental charm. The stone has been reset into a classic 9 carat gold pendant, giving this historic relic a new life while preserving its original feel.

The seal is formed from a rich purple paste stone, its vibrant colour glowing beautifully within the simple gold mount. Originally created as a personal wax seal, it has now become a beautiful pendant.

The surface is design with a letter and the French motto 'Une lettre adoucit les peines de l'absonce'; which translates to “A letter softens the pain of absence. During the Georgian era, such sentimental mottos were especially cherished and gifted between two loved ones. 

The combination of the vibrant purple, buttery gold setting, and deeply romantic inscription creates a piece that is both beautiful and meaningful.
