Antique Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Ring Gold and Silver; Circa 1820

A beautiful Georgian era ring, dating to circa 1820–1830, and believed to be of French origin. Filled with history and character, it is a wonderful token from the past. 

This elegant antique ring is designed with three graduating rows of rose-cut diamonds, each delicately set within silver collet settings. The diamonds themselves are petite, as was typical of the period, but the clever use of collets enhances their presence, allowing them to catch and reflect light beautifully. In candlelight, how this ring would originally have been admired, the stones shimmer with a soft, romantic sparkle that is utterly characteristic of Georgian jewellery.

The contrast between the cool silver settings and the rich warmth of the 18ct gold band is particularly striking. This combination was widely used during the Georgian period, with silver favoured for diamond settings to enhance brilliance, while gold provided strength and luxurious warmth beneath.

CONDITION: This is in good antique condition with only a light patina of wear to the ring. There is one diamond missing - however due to its positional on the edge, small size and setting it doesn't affect the overall look of the ring.
