A truly remarkable piece of Art Deco jewellery. This sort after ring incorporates a fully functioning miniature Swiss watch within its elegant 18 carat white gold setting.
Designed as a cocktail watch ring, the piece is created in 18 carat white gold and centred around an elongated oval watch case, beautifully set with sparkling diamonds. An ornate convex glass cover sits over the miniature dial, giving the ring a sculptural quality while allowing the timepiece to remain visible when worn.
The watch bears a Swiss Helvetia mark, confirming its Swiss manufacture. This is particularly fitting for a piece of this type, as the majority of miniature cocktail watches of the period were produced in Switzerland and across continental Europe, where the finest small mechanical movements were being made.
The watch has been fully serviced and is currently functioning beautifully. As with any antique mechanical movement, it will require regular winding to keep it running. The winding mechanism is accessed by gently lifting the small lever at the side of the case which has ingeniously be made to look like part of the shoulder. Please take care not to overwind the movement.
The attention to detail continues throughout the ring, with the shoulders and sides decorated with ornate engraving, beautifully contrasting with the crisp white gold and sparkling diamonds. The combination of the architectural Art Deco form, fine Swiss movement and intricate decoration makes this an exceptionally unusual jewel.
A captivating piece of wearable horological history, this is a true conversation piece: an elegant diamond cocktail ring that also happens to tell the time!
