A touching treasure from the Victorian era, this beautiful fob carries both sentiment and symbolism in equal measure. The front is formed as an oval plaque, delicately hand-enamelled with a vivid image of forget-me-not flowers entwined with a soft pink ribbon, upon which the motto reads “Forget Me Not.”
Turn the piece over and the reverse reveals a finely engraved gold surface, adorned with ornate floral swirls that shimmer and catch the light with every movement. A hallmark of the exquisite craftsmanship of the age, no angle left unloved.
During the 19th century, flowers were more than decoration. They formed a language of love, memory, and devotion. In this hidden vocabulary the forget-me-not symbolised enduring affection and remembrance. Such jewels were often exchanged between lovers or dear friends as keepsakes, their beauty carrying unspoken emotion.
A poignant and romantic memento, full of Victorian sentiment. The kind of piece that seems to whisper its story softly through time.
