An unusual antique pendant, carrying both history and an unusual transformation.

This remarkable piece began life in 1813 as a ring, originally gifted to a Reverend Ripan by his congregation in Glasgow. We know this as the underside still bears its original engraved dedication, including the date of 1813.

At some point in its long life, the ring was beautifully adapted. The back of the band has been removed or lost, and a loop added, transforming it into a distinctive pendant. This evolution only adds to its character, turning a personal token into a wearable historical relic.

Created in 9 carat gold, the piece is set with a substantial cabochon garnet. The stone displays a rich, glowing depth of colour, its domed surface catching the light beautifully and making it wonderfully eye-catching when worn.

Unique and steeped in early 19th century history, this is far more than a pendant. It is a tangible piece of the past as magical today as it was over 210 years ago!
