Antique Dutch Pear Rose Cut Diamond Ring in 14 Carat gold

A striking Dutch antique ring, beautifully balancing bold proportions with antique sparkle.

We are able to date the ring to the Netherlands between 1852–1906, thanks to the presence of the Dutch oak leaf hallmark to the exterior. A mark also denoting its carried from 14 carat gold. These historic hallmarks add a wonderful layer of provenance to the piece.

Created in rich 14 carat gold, the ring is formed with an impressively wide band measuring approximately 10mm, giving it a substantial and tactile feel on the hand. The bold simplicity of the mount is perfectly contrasted by the fire of the central stone.

Mounted to the centre is a pear shaped rose cut diamond, softly shimmering with the subtle glow unique to antique hand cut stones. Unlike modern brilliant cuts, rose cuts possess a gentler, more romantic sparkle. Catching the light with a flickering, candlelit quality that feels entirely in keeping with the age of the ring.

The contrast between the broad gold band and the refined pear diamond creates a particularly distinctive aesthetic. Bold and full of antique character.
