Antique Victorian Diamond Arrow Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1890

A truly darling antique ring, rich in symbolism and historic charm. The design is centred around the feathered fletching end of an arrow; a powerful motif in antique jewellery, traditionally associated with direction and love’s true aim.

Set within this striking form are hand cut diamonds, each full of individual character. Their softly irregular facets create wonderful depth and fire, catching the light with a romantic sparkle unique to antique stones.

The ring is created in rich 18 carat gold, with the diamond settings most likely executed in silver. A traditional Georgian and early Victorian technique used to enhance brilliance before the use of white gold and platinum. The contrast between metals beautifully frames the diamonds.
