Antique Victorian Diamond Arrow Ring; Circa 1880

A truly unique and captivating antique ring, rich in symbolism and character. The design is centred around what appears to be the feathered fletching end of an arrow. A  powerful and rarely seen motif in antique jewellery, often associated with direction, protection, and love’s unerring aim.

Set within this striking design are three substantial old cut diamonds. Each displaying the charming individuality only hand cut stones possess. Their slightly irregular facets create wonderful depth and fire, catching the light with a soft, romantic sparkle that modern cuts cannot replicate.

The ring is crafted in 18 carat gold, with the diamond settings most likely executed in silver. A traditional Georgian and early Victorian technique used to enhance the brilliance of diamonds before the advent of white gold and platinum. This combination gives the piece both warmth and contrast, beautifully framing the stones.
