Antique Victorian Oval Diamond Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1885

An elegant antique ring dating to 1885. Created in warm rich 18 carat gold this is such an eye catching ring thats as mesmerising today as well was over 140 years ago. 

The ring is formed as a beautifully simple gold band, graduating gently towards the centre where it rises to hold a substantial oval old cut diamond. The diamond sits down within the gold, creating a wonderfully understated setting that allows the stone itself to take centre stage.

The diamond is a particularly lively stone, catching and reflecting the light from its softly irregular old cut facets. With an estimated weight of approximately 0.60–0.70ct, it has a lovely presence while remaining super wearable.

There is something especially appealing about the simplicity of this design. The rich warmth of the 18 carat gold, combined with the sparkle of an antique diamond, creates a timeless combination that feels just as beautiful today as it would have been when the ring was first created over 140 years ago.

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition with little to fine patina over the ring and diamond. There are a few fine nibbles to the gone surface as well as traces of a historical sizing at the back of the band
