Antique Victorian Diamond Flowerhead Brooch Pendant in Original Box

A breathtaking Victorian diamond flower pendant, thoughtfully designed to be worn as both a pendant and brooch! Within this sublime jewel is showcased the elegance and versatility that defined the finest jewellery of the 19th century. This has the added rarity of its original box!

Beautifully fashioned as a blossoming flower, the piece is entirely set with hand cut old diamonds, radiating from a larger central diamond estimated to weigh approximately 0.40–0.50 carats. Each diamond has been individually cut by hand, giving the jewel a wonderfully soft and lively sparkle that modern stones simply cannot replicate.

During the 18th and 19th centuries old cut diamonds were considered the pinnacle of lapidary. Their broad, irregular facets were designed to capture and reflect the flickering glow of candlelight, creating a gentle, romantic shimmer that remains one of the defining qualities of antique diamond jewellery.

The front of the pendant is set in silver, a traditional choice that enhances the brilliance of the diamonds, while the reverse is fashioned in 9 carat gold, providing warmth, durability, and a beautiful contrast. The jewel retains its detachable pendant loop, together with its original screw on brooch fitting, allowing it to be transformed between pendant and brooch. A particularly charming detail is that the brooch fitting is still stored beneath the pendant's cushion inside its original presentation box, a wonderful testament to the care with which this piece has been preserved.
