Wonderfully dramatic this late Victorian silver necklace is a striking celebration of the Gothic aesthetic and the Victorian fascination with nature. Rich in intricate craftsmanship, it is a piece that captivates with delicate artistry and unmistakable sense of theatre.
The necklace is composed of eight exquisitely crafted spiders, each poised at the centre of its own finely woven web. Seven of these intricate webs form the principal body of the necklace in an elegant rivière style row. Suspended from the centre is an eighth spider web, forming an articulated drop that sways gently with movement, accompanied by further finely worked filigree elements.
Every web has been meticulously fashioned from crisp silver, the delicate filigree imitating the geometric perfection of a spider's silk with remarkable precision. Resting at the heart of each web is a beautifully sculpted spider, bringing the necklace to life with an enchanting realism.
