Antique Enamel Mourning Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1842

This beautiful Victorian mourning ring is a deeply personal and symbolic piece. Created in 18 carat gold and adorned with black enamel, the traditional colour of remembrance during the 19th century.

The band itself is formed from a series of panels, each bearing part of the loving tribute “IN MEMORY OF” in gold lettering.Inside the ring is its most intimate detail: a finely hand engraved inscription reading “T Brayan Died 18th Oct 1842.” This personal engraving immortalises the wearer’s connection and memory of the lost loved one.

Mourning bands of this quality were created with great care and sentiment, meant to be worn daily as a cherished reminder. The rich gold, crisp enamel, and heartfelt inscription make this piece both historically important and visually striking.
