A sentimental and beautiful collectors ring, this piece marks the passing of a dearly loved one during the Georgian era. This ring is a very unusual design with a beautiful tactile feel on the hand
We not only appreciate the story behind mourning rings, but we also love how it epitomises Victorian sentimental jewellery. Mourning jewellery became popular in the Georgian and Victorian era as a way of remembering those who have passed. They are testaments to the adoration of one to another.
The front of this ring features a total surface setting of round old cut paste stone. At the centre we have a circular boarder of white enamel. White enamel was often used in mourning jewellery for children or unwed individuals. Within the band we have a poignant engraving which reads ‘John Willow Ob 22 Aug‘t 1817 Out 30‘
This jewel is in remarkable condition considering its 170 years of age. We adore the sentimental meaning as well the highly ornate and exceptional design work. The entire piece is created from the best 9 carat rose gold, its deep buttery glow bringing exceptional quality to the ring.
This would make an amazing addition to any jewellery lovers collection. Not just an beautiful ring, but a piece of love in history.
