Georgian Ship Intaglio Fob Pendant; Circa 1830

A darling little Georgian fob, rich in charm and romance.

Set within an ornate gilt metal mount, this petite treasure features a creamy agate intaglio, hand carved with the image of a ship upon the open water. The pale, softly toned stone gives the engraving a lovely understated feel.

Ships and maritime imagery held a particular fascination in Georgian jewellery, often evoking journeys, distant shores, safe passage and wishes for hope. 

Originally worn as a watch fob or used as a personal seal, these little objects were both practical and deeply personal. Today, their petite proportions and decorative mounts make them especially charming worn as pendants, bringing a little piece of Georgian history into the everyday.
