This a poignant example of a sort after Victorian locket ring. Truly remarkable and filled with love and sentiment.
The front of this ring is designed with a banded agate signet ring style setting. With a shield shape and forget me not engraved shoulders; this in itself would be wonderful. However were have the extraordinary design element of a secret compartment set behind the agate which opens up on a hinge.
This door reveals a glazed compartment still intact behind which lays the delicately plated locket of a lost love one. This would have been commissioned and worn to remember a dearly lost loved one during the mid to late Victorian era. The click lock is nice and secure.
The piece has been crated from 9 carat gold and is a remarkable piece of history. A wonderful ring and rare piece of historical jewellery. This would have been a deeply cherished momento, worn and loved!
