Antique Shield Signet Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1914

An understated antique signet ring. Dating back to 1914 this buttery 18 carat gold signet ring is timeless in every sense of the word.

The ring has a classic shield shaped signet panel, once hand engraved with personal initials. Although softened through years of wear, traces of a “D” and possibly a “J” can still be seen within the engraving.

There is something particularly lovely about these faint remnants of personal history. The engraving may have once clearly identified its original wearer, but over more than a century of wear the crisp lines have softened, leaving only tantalising traces behind..

A beautiful early 20th century jewel with just enough mystery to make you wonder about the person who first wore it.
