A remarkable little Victorian jewel, made all the more special by the survival of its original box! Sentimental and very decorative, this is the sort of piece that feels as though it carries a story within it.
Created in 15 carat gold, the design centres around a heart formed from a halo of old cut diamonds, with a lustrous pearl at its centre. Surrounding it sits the sweetest green enamel bow, decorated with delicate polka dots. The combination of soft pearl, antique diamond sparkle and playful green enamel gives the brooch a distinctive character, balancing Victorian sentiment with a touch of whimsy.
Bows and hearts were enduring motifs in Victorian jewellery, often chosen to express devotion and lasting attachment. This is a jewel that may once have been given as a token of love or kept as a treasured reminder of someone dear.
To find such a sentimental piece still accompanied by its original box is a remarkable thing. A beautiful survival from another age, ready to be cherished all over again.
