Victorian Carnelian 'H' Fob Pendant; Circa 1860

An elegant antique fob pendant, beautifully designed with an ornate gold cased setting and centred around a rich, glowing piece of red carnelian. A wonderful and personal historical jewel as charming today as it was almost 200 years ago! 

The warm, translucent carnelian has been hand engraved with a flowing letter 'H' in an elegant script. The simplicity of a single initial gives the jewel a touching personal feel, perhaps marking the initial of an original owner or someone particularly beloved.

Fob pendants such as this were often worn from watch chains or suspended alongside other personal jewels, with engraved initials making them particularly intimate possessions. Now they are sort after as pendants or charms, brought back to life.
