A sublime Georgian topaz trilogy ring. Dating to the early 1800's, its is a beautiful celebration of the intricate craftsmanship that defined the period.
Created in rich 18 carat gold, the ring is mounted in an exquisite cannetille setting. This hard to find design is where delicate scrolls, beads, and finely worked gold create an ornate design. Popular during the late Georgian era, cannetille work showcased the extraordinary skill of the goldsmith, transforming precious metal into lace like decoration.
At the centre sits a captivating trilogy of foil backed topaz gemstones. The central pear cut stone displays a delicate lemon yellow hue, while the two flanking stones glow with soft peachy tones, creating a warm harmonious palette. The outer stones are exceptionally rare coffin cut topaz, a distinctive antique cut prized for its elongated, tapering form and not often encountered today. The foil backing enhances their colour and luminosity, allowing them to shimmer beautifully in changing light.
The combination of the elaborate gold mount and these unusual hand cut gemstones creates a ring of wonderful rarity. Pieces of this quality and originality are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly with their foil backed stones so beautifully preserved.
