An extraordinary survivor of the Georgian era, this captivating ring tells a story of craftsmanship and sentiment. A darling unique jewel
A true marriage of two Georgian jewels, the ring brings together an elegant polished 18 carat gold band with a beautifully sculpted silver tulip. The flower mostly likely once adorned a larger jewel before being lovingly given new life upon this substantial gold band. A practice not uncommon in the Georgian period, when cherished gemstones and meaningful motifs were preserved rather than broken down.
The tulip is exquisitely formed, its graceful petals brought to life with a glittering arrangement of antique diamonds. Set amongst the rose cut stones are exceptionally rare table cut diamonds, their broad, flat facets offering a distinctive, mirror like sparkle. Table cut diamonds are among the earliest styles of diamond cutting and are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Inside the band, traces of an old inscription 'B D., 2 and 78' Time has softened parts of the engraving, leaving only fragments behind, but these faded initials and date serve as a poignant reminder that this ring once marked a deeply personal moment in someone's life.
