Dating to 1848, this beautiful Victorian mourning ring is rich in symbolism and sentiment. At its centre sits a carved forget-me-not flower formed from softly banded agate; a powerful emblem of remembrance and enduring love. Surrounding the flower is a delicate halo of pearls, traditionally representing tears shed in mourning. Their gentle lustre adding quiet poignancy to the design.

The shoulders of the ring are decorated with striped black enamel, providing striking contrast and reinforcing the ring’s role as a memorial piece. Created in warm 15 carat gold, the setting balances elegance with depth, its colour softened beautifully by time.

Inside, the ring retains its original glazed locket compartment, still holding finely plaited hair. A deeply personal keepsake intended to keep the memory of a loved one close at all times.

Thoughtful and beautifully preserved, this ring is a moving example of early Victorian mourning jewellery. A rare and intimate relic of love, loss, and remembrance.
