Georgian Diamond and enamel Mourning Ring in 18 Carat Gold

At the centre sits a beautifully elongated marquise shaped panel. This is framed by the classic mourning motto “IN MEMORY OF” picked out in gold against the dark enamel. 

Within the panel rest three graduating old cut diamonds, each hand cut and sparkling with the gentle, candlelit brilliance characteristic of the era. Their subtle glow offers a contrast to the sombre enamel, symbolising light in the darkness. 

The ring’s shoulders are sublime, graduating in width and embellished with further bands of black enamel. Across these shoulders are ornate floral motifs, a common symbolic language of the Georgian period—flowers representing life and love.
