Vintage Hidden Compartment Signet Ring 9 Carat gold; Circa 1941

A highly sought after Second World War signet ring. Dating to 1941 this 9 carat gold ring is more than it seems.

At first glance, the ring appears to be a classic, substantial signet, with a generous gold panel simply hand engraved with the letter ‘M’. Its understated design gives it a wonderfully handsome quality.

But this ring holds a secret…

Hidden within the side of the signet panel is a tiny concealed compartment, which can be swung open. An ingenious detail, completely hidden when the ring is worn, giving the piece a sense of intrigue.

There is something so charming about a ring that reveals more the closer you look. From its simple engraved initial to its secret hinged compartment, this is a piece full of character and history. A highly unusual signet and a fantastic little piece of jewellery history.

WEIGHT: 6.5 grams approximately.  

CONDITION: This is in lovely antique condition with a fine patina across the gold. The hidden compartment opens and closes well - a small pin is needed to open it from the right.
