Decerpta dabunt odorem ~ Roses even when plucked will give sweet smell.
Dating to 1891 this Scottish clan Aiton is a wonderful motto and motif. A hand holding a plucked rose perfectly carved by hand into a deep deep red carnelian. The phrase is often interpreted as a metaphor for the enduring legacy or lasting impact of something, even after it has been removed or diminished
Signet rings can be seen going back thousands of years, even beyond the Roman civilisation. Often used to show belonging to a community, to demonstrate family connection or as a show of status. Their popularity continues to this day in many forms.
This signet ring is a great example due to its timeless design and tactile setting of buttery 18 carat gold. This is a solid and tactile ring which would beautifully worn with your other jewels stacked up or solo for an antique treasure.
